Journalism school: homework the the world can read

When I was at school there was a mild comfort in the fact that homework (when I managed it) was for the tutors eyes only!

No such comfort nowadays- especially when you are learning the craft of writing to be SEEN- journalism.

Our online publishing lesson last week – to which said homework was attached – was with online media guru,  Chris Wheal. (www.chriswheal.com)

It turned out to also be a lesson in ‘sod’s law’ because (wouldn’t you know it) it was the one day the internet had a melt down.

Such is life.

Nevertheless it was a very informative lecture on SEO, online reading patterns, tech-speak, using technology ‘for you.’ Simply put, a how-to guide for the twitter, facebook and all-things social media happy hack!

Look forward to the next class and slighty more hidden homework…
